This Privacy Policy describes how the Calorie Counter & AI Tracker application ("App", "we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and shares information about you when you use our iOS mobile application and website at calorie-counter.site.

1.1 Information You Provide Directly

  • Account Information: When you create an account, we may collect your email address, name, and password.
  • Health & Fitness Data: To provide personalized tracking, we collect data you enter, including height, weight, age, gender, activity level, dietary goals, food logs, meal photos, and weight measurements.
  • User Content: Photos you take or upload for AI food analysis.
  • Support Communications: Messages you send to our support team.

1.2 Information Collected Automatically

  • Usage Data: Information about how you interact with the App, including features used, screens viewed, and session duration.
  • Device Information: Device type, operating system version, unique device identifiers, and mobile network information.
  • Analytics Data: We use Google Analytics (Firebase) to understand how users engage with the App. This may include crash reports, performance data, and aggregated usage statistics.
  • In-App Purchase Data: Transaction history for subscriptions purchased through Apple's App Store (processed by Apple; we do not store payment card information).

1.3 Health Data

The App may request access to Apple HealthKit to read and write health-related data (such as weight, calories, and activity). We only access HealthKit data with your explicit permission. HealthKit data is used solely to provide app features and is never shared with third parties for advertising or sold to data brokers.

1.4 Camera & Photo Library

The App requests access to your camera and photo library solely to enable the AI photo food scanning feature. Photos are processed to identify food items and estimate nutritional content. Images may be transmitted to our AI processing servers. We do not store your photos longer than necessary to complete the analysis.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide, maintain, and improve the App and its features
  • Personalize your experience and provide tailored nutrition plans
  • Process your subscriptions and in-app purchases (via Apple)
  • Analyze food photos using AI to estimate nutritional content
  • Send you service-related notifications and updates
  • Respond to your support inquiries
  • Monitor and analyze usage trends to improve the App
  • Detect, investigate, and prevent fraudulent transactions and other illegal activities
  • Comply with legal obligations

3. Sharing Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share your information with:

  • Apple Inc.: In-app purchase and subscription transactions are processed by Apple. Apple's privacy practices are governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.

  • Business Transfers: If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction.

We do not share HealthKit data with third parties for advertising, marketing, or data-mining purposes.

4. Data Retention

We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you with our services. We will delete or anonymize your data within 30 days of such a request, except where we are required to retain it by law.

5. Data Security

We implement industry-standard technical and organizational measures to protect your information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. However, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

6. Children's Privacy

The App is not directed to children under the age of 13 (or 16 in certain jurisdictions). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have inadvertently collected personal information from a child under 13, we will take steps to delete such information as soon as possible.
